Lowcountry Voices under the direction of Nathan L. Nelson will join with African-American choral music icon, Dr. Roland M. Carter, in celebration of his 75th birthday, the culmination of a yearlong Birthday Tour across the United States and internationally. The event is part of the North Charleston Cultural Arts Festival and will take place at St. Peter's AME Church, 4650 Sanders Avenue (off East Montague) in North Charleston.
Joining Lowcountry Voices in the celebration will be the Claflin University Concert Choir under the direction of Dr, Isaiah McGee and Ms. Corinthia Sims, an award winning young soprano soloist. Dr. Carter will direct two of his most well-known arrangements, with Lowcountry Voices being joined by guest participants from around the United States who have previously performed the two songs under Dr. Carter or in any other choral experience.
